Performance Evaluation
Performance Evaluation
As part of ACA’s program, you must submit a performance evaluation. Your coaching will be assessed against ICF’s Core Coaching Competencies. The Minimum Skills Requirements provide information about what assessors are listening for when they conduct performance evaluations at each credential level.
A performance evaluation is you coaching someone, preferably not another coach, for a minimum of 30 minutes to a maximum of 60 minutes. You are then evaluated on your performance and receive a pass or fail score. The passing criteria are the same for your observed coaching sessions. You must submit a performance evaluation to ACA before you can graduate, but not before the end of your program.

Definition
All students participating in the program must submit a performance evaluation. The performance evaluation will be graded at the ICF Credential ACC level for Level 1 and PCC level for Level 2, described in the minimum skill requirements for ACC and PCC. Participants will receive written feedback and scoring for the performance evaluation.

When to Submit
Performance evaluations can be submitted after mentoring and all training is complete. We prefer students to submit their evaluation when they have completed at least 75 coaching hours.
Procedure
Performance evaluations are the student coaching an individual for 30 minutes at a minimum and a maximum of 60 minutes. Performance evaluations can be submitted anytime after the completion of the program and must be submitted before the end of mentoring. Quality, word-for-word, and readable transcripts are required.
Performance evaluations will take 4-6 weeks to evaluate. It will be requested promptly if further information is needed to perform the evaluation.
Video Requirements
Video files are required, not audio files, unless there is a privacy issue and the coachee disagrees with being recorded on video. If this is the case, you must notify the Director of Education, Elizabeth Bentley, PCC, of the situation.
Permission
Before recording a client, you must receive their written permission to use the recorded session for performance evaluation purposes. Recording a client without permission violates ICF’s Code of Ethics.
Preparing
Record several coaching sessions and select a session(s) that demonstrates your use of various ICF Core Competencies. Review your selected sessions and ensure the conversation is clear and audible and that only first names have been used during the coaching session. Regarding the overall quality of the recorded file, the quality and proximity of the recording device are typically more important than the file bit rate. An inaudible recorded coaching session will result in lower scores for the performance evaluation and delays.
Where to Submit
You will submit your evaluation video, mentoring log, and transcript if you have one here https://forms.gle/WHVByGnEaAMGzEeQA
Resubmissions
If you receive a score that is not passing, you may resubmit your performance evaluation. There is a cost of $50.00 per resubmission. You must pass a performance evaluation to graduate from the program.
