The 1.0 Academic Coaching Academy

 The goal of the 1.0 Academic Coaching Academy at ACA is to teach you how to be an effective and impactful academic coach and make a difference in student success outcomes. This training is for anyone who desires a coaching skillset to change the lives of students they coach and may also desire a credential from ICF. This specialized training can be offered on campus, to individuals, or to groups. Please contact us for on-campus or group information.

The program has been developed to qualify graduates to apply for an Associate Certified Coach credential with the International Coaching Federation. Non-certified and customized training options in the Academic Coaching Academy are also available.


This is a 72-hour Level 1 ICF-accredited coach training program and is of the highest quality. The program comprises 31 hours of synchronous training live with an instructor, 26 hours of asynchronous student-led work, 10 mentor hours, and 5 observed coaching sessions.

How is the program offered?

This program is offered virtually. See available classes and tuition here. Below is an example of how the program is structured.

  1. The virtual coach training is offered in a 10-week format. During this time, you are working closely with a cohort of other coaches who are immersed in learning coaching skills with you.

    • This format is flexible but typically runs one weekend day.

    • Only 31 hours of live training is required.

    • 26 hours working at your own pace in a learning management system.
